so much to think about...

Now the realization of a girl has settled in we have been talking a lot about names! but seriously, how in the world do you come up with a name good enough to fit your precious child? Haha. We have a few in mind but it's so hard to decide on something that will be with them their entire life!!! Also, color schemes?? how do you pick that? oh, and birth plans... how do you chose who you want to be in the room?? How many people is too many?? how do you chose medicated or un-medicated?(i would love to try hypnobirthing since my sissy loved it so much, but being in the middle of nursing school-how do you prep for that?!) Could i even tolerate the pain? (ha,i'm a big wuss so i doubt it!) how do you chose what you want on your registry? seriously, this is like harder than my wedding was, Katie- can you be my baby planner too??? since you were the best wedding planner! :) no but seriously if anyone has ANY advice- please do share.

how in the world do you come up with a name good enough to fit your precious child? This was so hard. we looked at some many different books and eventually decided on a name Justin heard on TV. Just keep your eyes (and ears!) out for names you might like. I had to write them down because pregnancy ate my brain.

Also, color schemes?? how do you pick that? We just shopped and found a bedding set we agreed on and that's where it came from. Lots of looking at different things. Check out BabySuperMall.com. It has tons tons of patterns and ideas all in one place.

oh, and birth plans... how do you chose who you want to be in the room?? I didn't decide until the last minute. You don't have to have anyone but you and Jason if you don't want.

How many people is too many?? Really this is a personal decision, but some hospitals have a limit on how many people can be in the delivery room so that they don't get in the way in case of emergency. You know, too many cooks in the kitchen?

how do you chose medicated or un-medicated? Don't decide. You can try unmedicated and then ask for medication if you want later on. This is one decision that really can wait until it's necessary to make it.

i would love to try hypnobirthing since my sissy loved it so much, but being in the middle of nursing school-how do you prep for that?! Could i even tolerate the pain? You absolutely can bear it! Hypnobirthing is great. I wasn't a fan of the book, but the CD was really helpful. You can listen to it during quiet time or in the car on the way.

how do you chose what you want on your registry? This was the absolute hardest. It was 10x harder than the wedding registry. I really liked the book Baby Bargains because it had almost every baby item rated and reviewed by professionals and parents. It helped wade through a lot of crappy baby gear. Plus who has time to do all that research themselves?

Just take a deep breath... and enjoy the experience. Making all of those important decisions I'd say the best thing to do is to talk it over with your hubby and decide together and enjoy the fun of it all. It's an exciting time.
