6 Months!

Happy half birthday miss Hazey! 6 months has flown by. Hazel had her 6 month apt this morning and had to get shots.. but she is doing better with these ones than she did her 2 or 4 month shots so thats good. She weighed 15 lbs 5 oz (40%) and was 27 inches tall (90%). she is growing! this past month she has been sitting up on her own, making cute noises, sticking her tongue out, and scooting like crazy. you put a phone infront of that girl and she will get it! on her 6 month birthday we gave her rice cereal. she didn't love it or hate it. since then she has tried bananas as well and does Not care for them ;) she is babbling and laughing and recognizes her name, has started taking longer naps and still exclusively breast fed and we both love that! she is still in 6 month clothes but we have started putting some 9 month clothes on her they are still a bit big. Hazel had her first trip to 4H camp (out of the womb that is) and has been loving going swimming! she just splashes and doesn't care if she gets it all in her face. She loves her jumpy/bouncer thingy and it is so much fun how much more interactive she is. It was so hard to get her to smile for these pictures because she has been grumpier than usual lately i think she may be teething but still no teeth yet! oh and once she found her sticky bellies sticker she would not leave it alone. haha. it was interesting and i am sure the following months will only become more entertaining.

Tahoe relay

Last Saturday June 9 seven of us ran in a relay around lake Tahoe. It was a beautiful day to run. We arrived Friday evening and got to the cabin then began the carb loading for the next days race.. (I think I'm still in carb loading mode!!) race started at 7am Erin did the first leg. 9.6 miles at a 9:20 pace!! Then Ron went next.. 8.6 miles of the biggest hills ever!!! Then it was my leg of the race.. 10.3 miles mostly downhill (yes I picked first and everyone was more than willing to give me the 'easiest' leg) fourth up was Zach! He smoked past 15 runners doing 12.1 miles at a 8 mile per hour pace and then nick ran his 10.5 miles. And passed like 11 people! And then I think the hardest leg Emily had with 10.5 miles of steady climbing.. She did fabulous tho! And quoted when she finished that that was the hardest run she has ever done even -harder than any of her 4 marathons!! Jason was the last runner and ran 10.5 miles to the finish line and we finished at 6:30 pm it was a fun day! Dad rode his bike with a backpack for water Gatorade and Gu following the runners and every couple miles ZWAG mobile was there cheering and with more water!!! Thank you mom for driving the whole entire day and cheering us all on!! And thank you thank you Erin for running like 5 miles with me it really kept me going and thanks Emily and nick for driving out from Utah to run with us!!!!!! It was such a fun weekend and a huge accomplishment for myself. Now I'm signing up for a hAlf marathon in sept!!

RN

Yes it's true if you haven't already heard. I graduated nursing school, studied my butt off, took my NCLEX, waited a miserable 48 hours and found out i PASSED and am now officially a Registered Nurse! i couldn't be more relieved and excited to be done with nursing school. well, now i have sent in my application for a bachelors in nursing online program and should hear back by the end of june if i got in. It is about a year long online program that i would start in sept and finish by next july/august. I am just hoping i get in and can just get it done before i have too many kids to finish all the schooling i want.

Hazel 5 months!

well since i forgot to post last month as we went to the dr's a few days after.. @ 4 months Hazel was weight: 13 lbs 12 oz
 height: 26 3/4 inches
And now it's been over a month.. so we will see how big she has gotten at her 6 month check up! Hazel is still exclusively breastfed never having a drop/bite of anything else. our pediatrician said it would be okay to start rice cereal after 5 months but i really would love to wait the full six months. i mean less mess, less hassle and she is showing interest in food but she is still sleeping GREAT (now ill jinx tonight ;) we have no feeding schedule.. whenever she wants, sometimes its 2 hours sometimes its 4-5 and at night its usually 8-10 hours. she rolls like a crazy lady all over the place, tummy to back, back to tummy does a little inch worm scoot thing. gets her butt in the air with her face in the ground and can inch around and spin different directions but she cant get very far- she can get much further rolling! the past couple weeks she has been sleeping on her tummy. she is not swaddled anymore. she LOVES baths and we have been taking her swimming and she is in LOVE. she splashes and laughs and then gets worn out and naps. We go on lots of walks with friends and she loves her baby bjorn. i have always heard that they are not a good way to hold a baby but she loves the forward facing with her arms and legs free like she's flying! her ergo is too restraining and its not forward facing. any other carriers out there that are forward facing? here is a picture overload of her cute self!!!
